The Tavern was built in 1917 and was used for rare game dinners, dances and a place for hunters to gather.

The Celizics bought the building in 1939 and named it the “Leroy Tavern”.

Together they kept the rich tradition of a family operation alive and well until 1964.

It wasn’t until 1994, just weeks before the building was to be condemned, that the “Tavern” was once again bought and operated by a family that would love and nurture it. New owners, Matt Krupka and Tim Toman, changed the name to Capps Tavern & Eatery and slowly began what would turn out to be its most remarkable transformation to date.

This establishment has come a long way since 1917 and proudly reflects the love and investment given to it by its various owners. Today it is Leroy’s destination of choice for great food, family and fun-a credit due largely to Tim’s wife, Graziella Toman. She is truly the face and breath of fresh air that customers have come to love and return for time and time again.
